Energy Efficiency

Energy Efficiency is a on the political agenda due to the rising costs and the effects of climate change. FOVC has set up the Clydesdale Energy Efficiency Project to help residents of Clydesdale reduce their expenditure on energy and reduce their consumption.

This is particularly relevant to Clydesdale given many properties are hard to heat and off the mains gas network.

In partnership with the Energy Saving Trust, all residents are entitled to a free home energy report and also a home visit which will identify low and no cost savings as well as practical insulation measures. We can also make sure people are on the most appropriate tariff and planning their usage to maximise the off peak times.

Many practical insulation measures like loft insulation and cavity wall insulation can be entirely funded through the Scottish Government’s Energy Assistance Package. For those who do not qualify for free funded, FOVC has negotiated discounted rates from local installers.

Furthermore, we can also arrange for benefits health checks to be carried out to ensure you are maximising your income and anyone spending over 10% of their income on fuel will qualify for a social tariff and could see their bills reduce by at least 20%.
